Managed water
There was an overall 13% decrease in managed water.
Managed water at AGL Hydro in FY25 decreased 13% due to Clover Power Station being out of serrvice for most of FY25 and an outage at West Kiewa Power Station. Managed water at AGL Torrens increased 21%, aligned with an increase in electricity generation.
Managed water is no longer reported for AGL Macquarie due to the closure of Liddell Power Station.
Managed water comprises non-consumptive use of water. |
AGL Hydro Managed Water includes the following facilities, West Kiewa, Bogong, Clover, Mckay, Dartmouth, Banimboola, Eildon, Rubicon Scheme, Yarrawonga, Burrendong, Copeton, Pindari, and Glenbawn power stations. |
Hydro managed water data had not been collected in FY23, so FY22 data was used as a proxy. FY23 was one of the wettest years Hydro had experienced on record, so there was more water in the scheme and dams leading into FY24. This, combined with further rainfall in H1 of FY24 is the reason for the significant increase from FY22 to FY24. |
